I've been drawing all my life. I began sketching when I was around 3 years old. I've always had the ability. Throughout the years there always has been a reason to continue drawing. In the 1980's I attended the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. I freelanced my way through my college years, producing posters, cartoons and event programs. Evergreen is a great school, and encourages creative thinking.
After college I relocated to northern California. I worked as a graphic designer at several companies, while developing my art on the side and taking on freelance projects. 1998 I took the leap and became a full time freelance artist. From my home office, I handled large scale Illustration projects from many clients.
Although my skills began with paper and pencil, the computer became an important addition to my creative toolbox. I jumped into Flash 2d animation in 1998, and began creating my own animated cartoons. I'm also a musician, and the animations give me a chance to write and play new music.
As always, I keep an ongoing sketchbook to scribble quick ideas. Those sketches are often the most inspired. I attend drawing classes whenever I can to continue building my art skills. That’s the great thing about art - you can always keep learning something new.
